Gov. Edwards called the first Extraordinary Session of 2023, starting at noon on Monday, January 30, 2023 and ending no later than 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2023, to address the growing number of insurance companies fleeing Louisiana and leaving homeowners with hefty premium increases.
The goal is to start a conversation around what can be done to attract insurers back to the state and get a head start on the issue before the Regular 2023 Session in April.
