Emergency Apartment Relocation Assistance

The City of Shreveport, alongside the Power Coalition, Providence House, and other partners, will be accepting applications for financial assistance and supportive services on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Application intake will occur at the SPAR Maintenance Facility (1033 Shreveport Barksdale Hwy) at 5:00 PM for residents of Jolie Apartments.

And at the New Birth Baptist Church (836 North Market) at 5:00 p.m. for residents of Villa Norte.


How to Quickly Move Through the Process

  1. Initial Assessment (can be completed by phone or in person) Providence House (318) 221-7887 ext. 143 or ext. 125 assist2024@theprovidencehouse.com
  2. Have a copy of your current lease available as verification of residency
  3. The following documents are required to assist with location of new housing:
    1. Copy of social security cards and birth certificates for all occupants of the unit
    2. Copy of driver’s license or Louisiana ID for occupants 18 years or older
    3. Proof of income (4 paycheck stubs) or Award Letter (SSI, Child Support, etc.)

If you have already found a new living unit, please provide:

  1. Name and address of the complex
  2. Contact name
  3. Copy of the lease agreement
  4. Anticipated move date

If you do not have all of the necessary documents and need support, please share that information upon assessment.
