Our local governments, in particular, are feeling that pain. And when local governments don’t have the money to support essential services and workers, that creates a ripple effect that hurts people, business, and our communities as a whole. SB 189 would take funding away from where it’s needed most and divert it to many businesses that are already getting financial assistance from the federal government and state legislature. Businesses are hurting too, but they need local governments to function properly in order to survive and thrive. That’s why we need all $811 million from the federal CARES Act to make our local governments whole. Urge Govenor Edwards to veto Senate Bill 189 so we can rebuild our state, our parishes, our towns, and our economy from the ground-up, not from the top-down.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
