This legislation allows nonpartisan activities that are not illegal in other state or federal laws (such as partisan campaigning or voter intimidation efforts) to take place within 600 feet of a polling place. This would allow volunteers to provide nonpartisan voter information and assistance near polling places without fear of retribution.
