NEW ORLEANS, LA | October 10, 2019ā€”The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice (PCEJ–http://powercoalition.org) and Voice of the Experienced (VOTE) are partnering with Black Voters Matter for a Statewide Bus Tour to educate and engage voters on the Power of their voice through exercising the right to vote.Ā Ā

The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice is a team of organizations who believe in the power of community and taking action. Our goal is to equip our fellow Louisianans with the knowledge and information they need to find their voice, and learn where and when to use it.

The goal of Black Voters Matter is to increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. Black Voters Matter believes in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when he said, ā€œPower at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.ā€Ā

The partnership with VOTE and Black Voters Matter will bring a Statewide Tour to community organizations, community spaces, churches, Southern University, and the Gamma Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.Ā Ā

Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, Voice of the Experienced (VOTE) and Black Voters Matter invite the media and the community to join us on the tour, learn about the organizations involved, meet members of the community and be empowered to vote.Ā

The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice works to build voice and power in traditionally marginalized and ignored communities. We are a coalition of groups from across Louisiana whose mission is to organize in impacted communities, educate and turn out voters, and fight for policies that create a more equitable and just system in Louisiana.Ā
