Shreveport: Operation Safe Neighborhoods
The City of Shreveport is offering its residents equipment and services designed to give homeowners tools to assit with public and personal safety. For this phase of the initiative, eligible residents will be provided with the installation of two motion-activated flood lights (front + rear). Equipment and labor are provided at no cost, on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to eligibility and availability.
Eligibility Requirements
- Homeowners only
- Elderly (62+) or disabled residents may qualify as homeowners or renters
- One application per household
- Property must be inside Shreveport city limits
- No existing flood lights on the home
Required Documentation (Copies Only)
- Homeownership: mortgage, tax bill, deed, or homeowner’s insurance
- Elderly: government-issued ID with date of birth
- Disability: SSI/SSD| letter, VA disability letter, doctor’s verification, or similar
- Note: Disability documentation is voluntary, confidential, and used only for eligibility.
How to Apply
- Complete the Operation Safe Neighborhoods II application
- Submit online or deliver to:
- Department of Community Development
- Approved applicants will be contacted for installation scheduling
- If unreachable after two (2) attempts, the applicant moves to the bottom of the list.
