Power Coalition for Equity and Justice Informs Louisiana’s Communities About Local Resources During Outbreak
The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice has turned our website–powercoalition.org–into an emergency resources page for communities across Louisiana. We will update it as new information becomes available.
NEW ORLEANS, LA | March 16, 2020—The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice is dedicated to working with, and on behalf of, Louisiana’s most vulnerable communities, especially those who don’t normally have access to proper health care and other vital resources. In a time like this, our work will go into overdrive, since we will need to make sure that our most vulnerable loved ones aren’t left further behind.
One of the ways we are trying to accomplish that goal is by using our website–powercoalition.org–as a repository of information and resources for communities across Louisiana. We have already extensively added to the site, and will continue to do so as more information becomes available.
We are also asking for tips and info from the public. If you know of any important local resources that should be posted on the website, please reach out to Peter Robins-Brown via email, at prb@powercoalition.org, so we can add them to our page.
The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice works to build voice and power in traditionally ignored communities, with a focus on communities of color. We are a coalition of groups from across Louisiana whose mission is to organize in impacted communities, educate and turn out voters, and fight for policies that create a more equitable and just system in Louisiana.
What: Power Coalition for Equity and Justice makes our website a resource center for local response efforts to the COVID-19 outbreak.
