All U.S. residents are strongly encouraged to complete the 2020 Census online. Options for responding by phone or mail are also available.

The Census determines how and where billions of dollars of federal money is spent. Each person who goes uncounted costs Louisiana $2,291. As a poor state, Louisiana desperately needs every dollar we can get.
Those billions are used to build schools, repair roads, and provide healthcare. They help the least fortunate in our communities feed their families and get their children an education. Businesses use Census data to decide where to expand their operations, leading to more local job opportunities.
Representation
Census data is used to redraw local, state, and federal political maps every 10 years. If your community is undercounted you will lose out on the opportunity to make your voice heard and build power in Louisiana.

Hard to Count Interactive Map
Our response rate map highlights the areas least likely to respond to the 2020 Census, and where community leadership is needed to encourage a full count of residents. As we build out our field program, learning how others respond in real-time will heavily influence how we target our community engagement. In addition, parents often don’t recognize that the youngest members of a household should also be counted; therefore, children under five are also highlighted on the map. Folks can target populations by specific zip codes, neighborhoods, and even view public schools, libraries, day/care head-start facilities, NORD facilities, churches, and Neighborhood Associations within their perspective area. In March, other parishes will be included on the interactive map as well.
