Criketa “Cree” Matlock is a leader in public policy, community engagement, and government affairs with over a decade of experience driving meaningful change across Louisiana. As Director of Government Affairs & Policy at the Power Coalition for Equity & Justice, Cree brings a deep commitment to equity, advocacy, and empowering underserved communities.

Cree holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Southern University and A&M College and a Master’s in Public Administration from Louisiana State University. Her professional journey reflects a passion for public service and a proven ability to influence policy and create strategic partnerships that uplift communities.

Before joining the Power Coalition, Cree served as District Executive Director at the YMCA of the Capital Area, overseeing multiple branches and leading initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. She also contributed to Charter Schools USA, where she was responsible for external relations, legislative strategy, and business development.

Cree’s impactful work with the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana and ResourceFull Consulting highlights her expertise in research, policy development, and systems-level change, particularly in early childhood education and access to essential services. Her efforts have consistently focused on building stronger, more resilient communities through collaborative, equity-centered approaches.

Known for her integrity, initiative, and results-driven mindset, Cree is a passionate advocate whose leadership continues to shape a more just and equitable future for Louisiana and beyond.
