New Orleans: LDF Presents – Response, Resilience & Resistance

On behalf of the Legal Defense Fund, you are cordially invited to join us for an afternoon of discussion, reflection, and celebration at Chapter IV, a modern Creole restaurant owned by Chef Dook Chase, grandson of the late Chef Leah Chase.

12–1 PM | Response, Resilience, Resistance

This panel will explore how Black women are mobilizing, advocating, and protecting their communities in response to escalating political, social, health, economic and legislative attacks under the current administration. 
The discussion will highlight frontline leadership in areas such as reproductive justice, educational equity, and voting rights. Panelists will examine how Black women are building resilience through community and resisting through organizing, storytelling, and policy advocacy. 

 Featured panelists include:

  • Ashley Shelton, President of the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice

1 PM – 3 PM | 85th Anniversary Reception
Stay for a celebratory reception honoring LDF’s 85th anniversary! We’ll recognize the clients of the recent Louisiana v. Callais Supreme Court case and showcase visual moments from LDF’s legacy. Heavy refreshments will be served.
