LaVita Tuff

Deputy Director

LaVita Tuff , an Atlanta Georgia native, comes to the Power Coalition from the National Academy for State Health Policy located in Washington D.C. At NASHP, she helped lead the emerging issues team in pharmaceutical legislative tracking and policy making. During her tenure, she was in charge of managing and maintaining the only pharmaceutical legislative tracker in the country. Prior to her time at NASHP she worked for the BlueGreen Alliance leading policy program efforts in international trade, labor and environmental issues. One of the most empowering roles of her career was at the Sunlight Foundation where she helped mid size cities develop and implement open data policies and drafted best practices. As an alum of former Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake administration, she has worked on issues ranging from business development to economic development and housing.

In her spare time LaVita runs the Hillman Agency which helps professional athletes build sustainable foundations and work towards making their communities a better place for all.

She holds a B.A. in English from Tennessee State University, a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning with a specialization in Economic, Community and Housing Development from the University Of New Orleans, and a Juris Doctorate from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law.
