Janea Jamison

Program Coordinator

Janea Jamison is the current Program Coordinator for Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, and a native of Napoleonville, Louisiana. After graduating from Ascension Catholic High School, she received both her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Masters of Public Administration from Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, LA.

Prior to working at the Power Coalition, Janea was the Legislative Aide to East Baton Rouge Metro Councilwoman Erika L. Green. She managed and coordinated various City-wide programs throughout East Baton Rouge Parish such as Iwe Festival— an urban cultural book festival. She is a public policy advocate and is most passionate about community engagement and providing resources to those in underprivileged communities. She spends much of her time volunteering for nonprofits such as the Butterfly Society, Big Buddy Program, and Dream Works Louisiana.

She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Through a commitment to service to a cause greater than self, she hopes to inspire millenials to take an active stand in their communities.
